Originally built in 1912 by architect Samuel Maclure for Edward Davis, a prominent Canadian Pacific Railway lawyer, Cecil Green Park was renamed in honour of Dr. and Mrs. Cecil Green, who bought the house in 1967 and generously donated it to the University of British Columbia.  Dr. Green was a businessman who grew up modestly, earned his degree from UBC, and went on to start the company Texas Instruments.  He never lived in the house.

Not only did this venue offer spectacular views out into the ocean, but it has special significance for us as we met on campus and also completed a combined fifteen years of post-secondary education at UBC!
