oug was born on Mother's Day in 1977 at St. Paul's Hospital and has lived in Vancouver ever since.  After completing the International Baccalaureate Program at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, he went on to the University of British Columbia to complete a Bachelors of Science degree before entering medical school in 1999.  From 2001 to 2003 he completed a 2-year Residency in Family Practice at UBC and served as Chief Resident of the Greater Vancouver Site in his latter year.   He currently practises as a locum physician in the Vancouver area.

loria was also born and raised in Vancouver. She attended Eric Hamber Secondary School and graduated with honours from the Challenge Program.  After completing the first year in undergraduate Science at the University of British Columbia, she entered the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science and completed her Bachelors of Science (Pharmacy) in 2000.  She then completed a 1-year Hospital Residency at Children's and Women's Health Centre, after which she accepted a position as a Clinical Pharmacist at the hospital.  She recently won the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists New Hospital Pharmacy Practitioner Award.

Both Doug and Gloria share a love for traveling, and especially cruising. They've been on 13 cruises together: Alaska (1999), Eastern Caribbean (2000), Western Caribbean (2001 and 2004), Bahamas (2001), Mexican Riviera (2002), Mediterranean (2003), Panama Canal (2004), Australia/New Zealand (2006), and a few Coastal cruises.  In June 2006 they cruised in the Baltics for their honeymoon.  Their other mutual interests include shopping and cooking.
